I sketched this about a week and a half ago during free time in class, I was just wanting to sketch out Destry, but as I was doing so, I decided to change her.
You see, the reason I had given her the big ears and the over sized tail, was so that she would be more unique, but I realize now, that everyone has huge ears and a huge tail, that isn't what makes a character unique at all. Destry doesn't need all of the extra things that I had given her to keep her unique, she doesn't need the overly complicated design, the huge ears and tail, the horns, the over excessive amount of piercings, none of that is at all needed, what makes Destry unique are her tail feathers, the fact that she's a venomous feline, that her personality matches mine, and that I'm done trying overly hard to go to extremes to keep her unique. Destry is unique without all of that, she's beautiful in her simplicity.
In the end, Destry is a representation of myself, so why is it that I was trying to change the representation of myself in order to stay unique? I don't have all of that, I'm a fairly simple girl. I don't have a ton of piercings, I have two in each ear, I don't have tattoos yet, and I don't know that I ever will, but I'm a unique person without all of that, no one is like me, and no one will ever be...
What you see on her is exactly what she is, there are no special designs on her back, just freckles down her spine and scattered here and there on her back. She's simple, and I like her that way.
